Grandfather Tree

wonderful way to start my morning, Thank you to Cheryl Mary Coleman for providing!

This poem is about an Australian eucalyptus gum tree that I call Grandfather Tree.  I live but a stones throw away and am greeted each morning by the sun rising through the limbs of this great tree as it peeps over our garden wall.

This magnificent old tree (which must be at least 200 years of age) is all that is left in our immediate area of the Gnangara Forest.   This is being slowly cleared and decimated to allow for homes like ours, which is extremely sad.  The tree is now a focal point of the local park surrounded by a small area of natural bush,  where families gather to play and walk their dogs.

Whilst walking my black Labrador Jet, around the park he darted off into the bush, and so following him under the canopy of the trees arrived at the huge base of Grandfather Tree.  I decided to sit…

Organization the Continuum
This is the Shadow side of Organization. The Dark Side.                                                                                                                                          This is where it ends, self destructs, is reborn, and begins again.

And then my Assistant rearranges it:

A good friend of mine (with whom I mix since my childhood) has got adacha (a country house). The dacha is located in a picturesque place 40 miles from Belgorod, Russia. Almost every season I go there with my artist friends for plein air painting or just to take pictures. Sometimes we stay an overnight or two, bake potatoes and make shish kebab.

I’ve got dozens of pictures of the area around the dacha. This pond is one of them.

Eleven Shades Of Ocean Sunrises

I live close to an ocean too in the U.S. so am reblogging this to honor the ocean in general. I guess it’s more or less the same water lol!!!!

11 photos from 11 different days of this blogger’s vacay, what a great idea and beautiful homage to the Lady Ocean!

Rainy Car Windows

tree thru rainy window crop 2

Sitting in my car before work.

The word “CARE” has the word “car” embedded in it.

Interesting.

Life looks different when seen through the lens of a rainy dropleted window-shield.

When a tree like this is framed within a photograph, it becomes all that is.

Life becomes beautiful.

What if – we could train our eyes to do what a camera lens does?

Walnut

This day, this moment, I am doing nothing but sitting outside under the walnut tree, relaxing.

This is my view.

This is all that I am, in this moment.

A Study in Verticals

(whichever sounds more impressive)

Saw 2017 final

“I’m cutting tree branches off to build my log cabin” he says matter-of-factly.

“With my saw.”

I was alarmed, a bit.

Especially when he kept referring to his “saw” that Daddy gave him,
or that he found in the garage, I can’t even remember how it went now.

Until I saw what he was talking about.

(Not the one in the back.)
