I’ve just really gotten to a point where I don’t care to be around people who I KNOW don’t have my best interest at heart if I don’t have to. Some people I tolerate for the sake of peace or because we’re family but here lately .. my tolerance is low. I don’t have a desire to be around those who I know have sneaky motives and bad intentions period. 🤷♀️ Like I literally don’t have the energy to deal with what’s clearly negative nor am I trying to find the energy to even fool with it! I find peace in keeping my distance. And honestly, a small part of me feels guilty for being so distant towards certain people because I know it probably makes them feel some type of way but the rest of me is SO content with it! If keeping my mental health at an all…
You don’t ever have to feel guilty about REMOVING TOXIC PEOPLE FROM YOUR LIFE. It doesn’t matter whether someone is a relative, romantic interest, childhood friend or a new aquaintance. You don’t have to make room for people who cause you pain or make you feel small. It’s one thing if a person owns up to their behavior and makes effort to change. But if a person disregards your feelings, ignore your boundaries and “continues” to treat you in a harmful way, they need to go. – DANIELLE KOEPE
Can I share something with you? Something honest? Something…real?
One of the downsides of being unapologetically myself, is that I’m a bit headstrong and extremely decisive. I’ve always had things under control with my to-do lists, planners and bullet journals. This applies to everything. This shocks people, it intimidates people and what people don’t understand, scares them and they will try…

As if everyday was New Year’s Eve,
you crack me open to see what you get in return.
When you treat everyone as just a gear to a mechanism,
you’ll soon realize how robotic you’ve become.
You were born from love
of jungle gyms and stomping grounds, but
if you’ve only ever seen the world through
this lens of us versus them
then I’m sure you were great at hide and seek.
Wearing others down like
a pair of shoes I meant to replace,
when someone’s resolve shatters under your pressure
like the snap of a thunderclap
is it music to your ears?
We were put on this earth with others
and maybe one day you’ll figure that out.
It’s no quiet accomplishment
sewing up these loud sutures again and again,
but if you do find yourself alone
thinking maybe I’ll take your call, know that I am among an…
Thank you so much, Ragazza Triste (Cynthia) of www.wondercyncyn.wordpress.com, for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award! This is my very first blog award ever! By being nominated for it, it appears as though I have achieved some of my writing goals mentioned below!
What I like best about Cynthia/Ragazza Triste is that she says in her about page that she “knew even before I turned 12 that I wanted to be weird, different and boring.”I only just now looked up her blog name’s English translation and it’s “sad girl.” Rancor is one of favorite poems of hers: “He ignored my plea when I implored him to stay / I cried silently / Gripping the metal of my verdict.” She is an eloquent poet and a joy to read. Also, thanks to her, I now know what a Jeepney is!
About The Award:
Created by Okoto Enigman, this is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts.
He decided to call the award”Mystery Blogger Award”“because the meaning of my name, “Enigma” is “mystery.” So basically, it’s named after myself; the creator. Plus, I think it’s cool because there are so many blogs that are still a mystery to us; and when we get to know them, it’s divine! And we find friends where we least expect.”
Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.
Incidentally, THIS is how this award started. Cool background.
I’d like to also promote my fellow nominees, all amazing blogs and well worth following:
2: Which pet do you prefer? Cats? Dogs? Reptiles? Why? RODENTS. Any. love them all. I’ve always loved them, starting with guinea pigs, love squirrels, mice, rats, rabbits too.
3: Why did you decide to become a writer? Does anyone actually decide to be a writer? I”ll be interested to see others’ answers to this one.
I’ve written poetry since the 5th grade and writing comes so easily to me that I do try to get paid for it sometimes. This blog though – is just my creative outlet. Something I learned I should make time to give myself from my friend Shalagh Hogan at www.shalavee.com
4: What do you want to achieve as a writer? A living would be nice! Mostly I just like to share ideas and thoughts. To inspire and educate others about things I find out about, or know something about. To improve someone’s life. To publicize little known people, places, events or things that I think are cool.
5: What are your pet peeves? Having to say something after I’ve already said it. Having what I have said be disregarded. Inefficiency.
6: If this world will end now, what are your last words? I love my babies!
I hope I can find people to nominate that haven’t already done this! But here goes – some of my favorite blogs who steadfastly keep my attention, which is not an easy thing to do between my attention span and my life!
This is so awesome and I’m so excited!!!! I love both this blog and the Perks of Being Different blog that she references! Can’t wait to get started on this, thanks for making my friday Ragazza Triste!!!!!!!!
It’s been months since I got nominated for an award, and I am pumped with gratitude and positive vibrations. I am always excited to participate, and nominate fellow bloggers; I want to know their thoughts and reflections. I believe that being nominated is already a congenial experience, and it’s a cycle of sharing one’s identity. In this community, there is already an ocean of people with different sets of goals and achievements, and awards like this make it even more fulfilling.

May 4, Friday — Kaleidoscope Children’s Art Studio opening — 5-8 p.m., 312 Cannon St., Chestertown. Children may help create a mural and parents can learn about the new studio’s offering. Info: kaleidoscopechestertown.com.
Kaleidoscope Art Studio is owned by Shelley Armiger. As an artist, crafter and educator, Shelley is passionate about encouraging creativity, self esteem and exploration through a love for art.
From fiber arts and watercolor to the fabulous melty-beads of the 90’s, Shelley has been a life long crafter and entrepreneur. Raised in a family of cooks, boat-builders, artists, sewers, and knitters, it was expected that if you want to make something, you just figure it out. As an 11-year-old, Shelley pursued her first business venture, embroidering denim pants with hearts and flowers. Throughout high school and college, Shelley taught art and nature themed camps in Chestertown. While attending Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, Shelley became interested in the process art method and it’s positive impact on children’s creativity, confidence, and love for art. This method, which focuses on a child’s creative process rather than the finished product, became Shelley’s guiding philosophy in teaching.
After graduating in 2011 with a BS in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, Shelley returned to Maryland where she worked at Radcliffe Creek School for 5 years, teaching preschool through second grade students. Shelley lives with her husband, Ben, and two sons, River and Olin, on their farm just outside of Chestertown. When she’s not crafting, teaching or creating, you can find her at the Chestertown Farmers’ Market with her Blue Heron Farm’s organic jams.
